ALDImobile runs on the Telstra Wholesale Mobile Network. Its own coverage page names the operator as Medion Australia trading as ALDI Mobile. ALDImobile is the supermarket's prepaid brand, running on the Telstra Wholesale Mobile Network. The range is wider than the supermarket label suggests. Six voice plans, three shared family plans, and three data-only SIMs that last a full year.

Every voice plan includes unlimited standard Australian calls and SMS plus data rollover, and the 5G tiers add international calls to selected destinations. Two promotions were live when we last checked these prices on 25 August 2026: double data on eligible 5G plans for activations between 22 July and 29 September 2026, and the $23 and $29 prices locked until 31 August 2027 for anyone who joins by 29 September. Neither is in the tables above, which show the ongoing rate.

The wholesale question
ALDImobile's coverage page says the service uses the Telstra Wholesale Mobile Network, and that wording is doing real work. Wholesale access covers a large share of the country and reaches further than most Optus or Vodafone resellers, but it isn't the footprint a Telstra retail SIM gets. The gap shows up in exactly the places you'd care about it, on fringe regional roads and at the edge of a town's coverage rather than in the middle of one.
Boost Mobile is the brand to hold this against, because it sells the full Telstra retail network at prepaid prices and charges accordingly. The Telstra network hub has the full list of brands on both tiers.
APN settings
ALDImobile's APN settings are confirmed from ALDImobile's own support article, checked 26 August 2026: one combined profile with the APN mdata.net.au, and every other field blank apart from the MMS values. ALDImobile also names telstra.internet as a fallback if the first one doesn't take. Most handsets configure themselves when the SIM goes in, so you'll only need this if yours doesn't.
The honest verdict
ALDImobile is an easy recommendation for anyone who wants a Telstra-based network at supermarket prices and doesn't need anything clever. $23 for 12GB is cheap by any measure, the family plans are one of the few real shared-data options in the budget tier, and the year-long data SIMs solve a problem most prepaid brands ignore entirely.
What you give up is polish. No postpaid billing, and no advertised eSIM, so plan on waiting for a physical SIM. The entry plan is 4G only and capped at 100Mbps. And if the reason you're shopping is coverage on a property three hours from a capital, check the map for your own postcode before assuming wholesale matches retail.
