TeleChoice
TeleChoice uses the Telstra wholesale network, in its own words, and claims 98.8% population coverage with 5G reaching at least 75%. Wholesale is a wide footprint and a long way ahead of what most Optus or Vodafone resellers reach, but it isn't the full Telstra retail network, and the shortfall shows up at the fringes rather than in town.
- Fourteen plans, the widest range of any brand on this site, covering prepaid, postpaid and long-life SIMs
- Telstra wholesale coverage, which TeleChoice puts at 98.8% of the population
- Long-life prepaid SIMs running 180 or 365 days on a single payment
- eSIM available, confirmed on its own site
- Data banking and data gifting on the prepaid range
- Support line with published hours, seven days a week
- Telstra wholesale, not Telstra's full retail footprint
- The postpaid tiers advertise a $5 discount for the first six months, so the headline isn't the ongoing price
- Prepaid tiers cap at 100Mbps until you reach the $40 plan
- No official APN settings published anywhere on the site
- Fourteen plans is a lot to compare, and the range isn't laid out to make that easy
TeleChoice sells fourteen plans, which is more than any other brand on this site, and they run across three quite different shapes: postpaid SIM-only, 28-day prepaid, and long-life prepaid SIMs that last six months or a year on one payment. All of it sits on the Telstra wholesale network.
The range is its strength and its problem. Somewhere in fourteen options there's probably a good fit for you. Finding it takes work TeleChoice hasn't done on your behalf.
Postpaid SIM-only
Month-to-month, no lock-in, unlimited standard Australian calls and SMS on every tier:
Plan | Data | Ongoing price | First 6 months |
|---|---|---|---|
SIM Only Basic | 12GB | $23/month | $23/month |
5G Global | 30GB | $30/month | $30/month |
5G Plus | 40GB | $35/month | $30/month |
5G Advance | 75GB | $42/month | $37/month |
5G Premium | 120GB | $52/month | $47/month |
5G Ultimate | 160GB | $59/month | $54/month |
The four larger tiers knock $5 off the access fee for the first six months. It's a small discount as these things go, and the ongoing price is the one worth comparing.
Prepaid
Five 28-day plans, all with unlimited standard Australian calls and SMS, data banking and data gifting:
Plan | Data | Price | Speed |
|---|---|---|---|
Prepaid 15GB | 15GB | $24 / 28 days | 4G, capped at 100Mbps |
Prepaid 29GB | 29GB | $29 / 28 days | 4G, capped at 100Mbps |
Prepaid 49GB | 49GB | $35 / 28 days | 4G, capped at 100Mbps |
Prepaid 75GB | 75GB | $40 / 28 days | capped at 150Mbps |
Prepaid 150GB (5G) | 150GB | $55 / 28 days | 5G, up to 250Mbps |
Then three long-life SIMs, paid once for the whole term. The data figure is the total for the term, not a monthly allowance:
Plan | Total data | Term | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
Prepaid 150GB (Long Life) | 150GB | 180 days | $150 once |
Prepaid 220GB (Long Life) | 220GB | 365 days | $269 once |
Prepaid 369GB (Long Life, 5G) | 369GB | 365 days | $369 once |
The 365-day options are the ones worth a second look if you're buying for a second phone, a teenager, or anyone whose data use is light and predictable. $269 for a year works out to about $22 a month with nothing to remember.
Prices confirmed 21 August 2026. Compare these against every other current plan, including the other Telstra-network options, in the full comparison table.
Coverage
TeleChoice's site says it uses the Telstra wholesale network, and puts coverage at 98.8% of the population with 5G reaching at least 75%. Those are TeleChoice's figures, not ours.
Wholesale is the qualifier to hold onto. It's a wide footprint, well ahead of what most Optus or Vodafone resellers reach, and it isn't the full Telstra retail network. If you're buying specifically for coverage at the far edge of a service area, Boost Mobile sells the retail footprint at prepaid prices, and it costs more for exactly that reason. The Telstra network hub has both tiers laid out.
APN settings
We don't publish APN values for TeleChoice, and there's no TeleChoice APN page on this site for that reason.
We checked telechoice.com.au's homepage, its support section, and ran an on-site search for APN, which returned nothing. When a provider doesn't publish its own settings, guessing them is worse than saying nothing, because wrong APN values leave you with no mobile data at all. Most handsets configure themselves when the SIM goes in. If yours doesn't, call TeleChoice on 1300 835 324, open Monday to Friday 9am to 8pm AEST and weekends 9am to 6pm.
The honest verdict
TeleChoice is one of the better-value brands on the Telstra wholesale network, and the long-life SIMs are the part of the range I'd point people to first. Paying $269 once for a year of service is a genuinely different product from a monthly plan, and very few brands offer it.
The postpaid tiers are competitive without being remarkable, and the prepaid range gets held back by a 100Mbps cap that persists until the $40 plan. If you want the same network at a similar price with a shorter list to read, ALDImobile and Belong are the obvious comparisons. If you want the widest set of options and you're willing to spend twenty minutes working out which one fits, TeleChoice will probably have it.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What network does TeleChoice use?
- The Telstra wholesale network, stated in those words on its own site, which puts coverage at 98.8% of the population with 5G reaching at least 75%. That's a Telstra footprint, but the wholesale one rather than the full retail network a Telstra-branded SIM gets.
- How do the long-life SIMs work?
- You pay once and the service runs for the full term rather than recharging every 28 days. The $150 plan covers 180 days with 150GB, the $269 plan covers 365 days with 220GB, and the $369 plan covers 365 days with 369GB. The data figure is the total for the term.
- Is the postpaid price on the site the ongoing price?
- Not for most tiers. The 5G Plus through 5G Ultimate plans run $5 a month cheaper for the first six months, then revert. The prices on this page are the ongoing rates.
- Does TeleChoice publish APN settings?
- No. We checked its homepage, its support section and an on-site search for APN, which returned nothing. We don't publish values we can't source from the provider. If a new SIM won't connect, call 1300 835 324.
